¡¡¡¡The Journal of Stomatology is an academic
joural in the field of oral medicine, mainly covering the
latest achievements and trends in both basic and clinical
researches, aiming at providing the up?to?date information
for the clinicians, teachers, scientific researchers and students
and promoting the academic exchanges for the development of
stomatology. It has such columns as basic researches, clinical
researches, treatises, outpatient management, surveys, preventive
oral medicine, clinic forums, reviews, experiences, short
reports, academic trends and news. Manuscripts from the professionals
in the field of oral medicine are warmly welcome. The following
requirements should be met.
1.The manuscripts should be scientific, advanced and practical.
The materials and data should be authentic and reliable. They
should have explicit arguments and the writing should be clear
and coherent. Treatises and reviews should be no more than
4,000 words (charts, tables and references included). Reports
on clinical experience should be no more than [KG*2]2,000
words while short reports should be no more than 1,000 words.
2.Should the manuscripts be funded by the nation, Health Department,
or the province, footnotes of the fund number are given on
the lower left of the article title and duplication of the
fund is needed. These manuscripts will deserve the first considerations
for publication.
3.The title of each article tries to be concise and reflective
of the content. A Chinese title is no more than 20 Chinese
words, usually with no English abbreviations. The English
title should be consistent with the Chinese title with no
more than 10 full words.
4.The signatures of the authors should be arranged in order
below the title. The work unit and postal code of the author,
a brief introduction of the correspondent author (name, gender,
professional title, academic degrees, date of birth, telephone
number, fax number and e?mail address included) should be
footnoted on the lower left of the article title. The authors
should get involved in the work described in the article and
be responsible for the content of the article. The number
of authors should be limited. Should it be a joint project,
1, 2, or 3 should be marked on the upper right of the names
of the authors. Their work units and postal codes are respectively
arranged. Should the author be the one who takes a refresher
course, his or her former work unit should be given.Ê
5.The abstract should have Chinese and English versions with
3 to 5 keys attached to them. The key words might as well
be within the MeSH thesaurus. If necessary, conventional words
can be adopted and arranged in one line posteriorly. The abstract
should include objectives, methods, results and conclusions
in the third person. A Chinese abstract is about 300 words.
The English title, name of the author (Chinese phonetic alphabet),
the work unit of the author, the English abstract and key
words should be consistent with the Chinese version. The names
of all the authors should be listed. Should it be a report
on clinical experience, a Chinese abstract and key words are
required.
6.The headings of the body are successively numbered in Arabic
numbers and are numbered in grading, such as 1, 1.1, 1.1.1.
7.Medical nouns should be from ÒMedical NounsÓ published by
the National Natural Sciences Nouns Examination and Revision
Committee and the English?Chinese Medical Vocabulary published
by the People's Health Press. Drug names should be from the
latest edition of ÒPharmacopeia of the People's Republic of
ChinaÓ.
8.Charts and tables should be attached to the paper and be
numbered according to the order. Line charts or tables should
be printed on drafting paper with ink. They should be clear
and coherent, showing precise relationship. Photographs require
good clarity and contrast ratio. Pathological photographs
should display typical pathological changes and chromatic
methods and amplification factors should be given. The captions
of the charts or tables might as well be precise. The name
of the author, number of the chart or table or the up or down
direction should be marked on the back of the photographs.
The corresponding photographs should be marked in the paper.
The chart or table adopts three?line charts or tables with
precise data and radix points (usually two digits). The charts
or tables should have Chinese and English titles. The titles
and illustrations of the charts or tables or photographs should
have Chinese and English versions. Statistical marks are written
according to the prescriptions in GB33581393 ÒStatistical TermsÓ.
Numbers are written according to GB/T5835-1995 ÒPrescriptions
of Numbers in PublicationsÓ. Measurement units are written
according to the ÒLegal Measurement Units of the People's Republic
of ChinaÓ published in 1984 and GB3100310293 ÒMeasurements and
UnitsÓ.
9.The title of a paper doesn't adopt abbreviations. Should
an abbreviation first appear in the abstract and body, the
full form in Chinese should be given and the full form in
English and its abbreviation should be marked in brackets.
10.References should be written according to GB/T7714-1987
ÒWriting Prescriptions of Posterior ReferencesÓ. The Arabic
numbers in brackets are arrangedin order according to the
sequences in the paper. The author lists some published articles
he or she has read as references. The writing pattern should
be as follows.
Periodical: £Ûserial number£Ý author (No more than three authors
should be all listed with Ò;Ó in between them. Should there
be more than three authors, the first three authors should
be listed and Òet alÓ is added. Family names come before abbreviated
given names for western authors.
The title £ÛJ£Ý, name of the periodical (Periodicals in foreign
languages should be written according to Index Medicus), year,
volume (issue): the starting page to the ending page.
Treatise: £Ûserial number£Ý author. name of the book £ÛM£Ý. order
of the edition The first edition can be omitted). publishing
place: publishing unit, year: the starting page to the ending
page.
11.A letter of recommendation from the work unit of the author
should beattached to the manuscript and 30 yuan per article
should be posted to the Editorial Office for process fee.
The manuscript should be compiled in word software and printed
on A4 paper in small No.4 words. Should the manuscript be
submitted through e-mail, ÒsubmissionÓ should be marked on it
and a written submission is required. Should it be a Òsending
back for revisionÓ manuscript, ÒSending back for revisionÓ and
serial number should be given. The revised disk manuscript
should be posted ( in word form).
12.Keep the original manuscript. No manuscript will be returned
to the author whether it is published or not. The manuscript
is still under process since the manuscript is posted and
neither the admission nor sending back for revision is received
within 6 months. Should the author submit the manuscript to
another journal, please feel free to contact the Editorial
Office first.
13.After the manuscript is decided for publication, please
pay for the publication fee according to the notice. The payment
to the author will be paid and one issue will be given to
the author after its publication. The payment and the issue
will be posted to the first author.
14.Should the paper be awarded, please make sure to inform
the Editorial Office. The paper will be awarded by the Editorial
Office according to the level of award.
