Current progress of research on the mechanism of low-intensity pulsed ultrasound in orthodontic bone reconstruction

摘要: 低强度脉冲超声(low-intensity pulsed ultrasound,LIPUS)是强度介于30~100 mW/cm2、频率低于3 MHz的脉冲式超声波,其广泛参与调控成骨细胞、牙周膜细胞及牙骨质细胞的增殖、分化等多项生理功能,最终发挥加快牙移动速度、保护牙根组织的效应。本文就近年来LIPUS对正畸中骨改建调控作用的研究进展进行综述,以进一步加深对LIPUS生物学功能的理解。

Abstract: Low-intensity pulsed ultrasound (LIPUS) is an ultrasonic wave with an intensity of 30-100 mW/cm2 and a frequency of less than 3 MHz. It is widely involved in regulating physiological functions such as the proliferation and differentiation of osteoblasts, periodontal ligament cells and cementoblasts, ultimately playing the role of accelerating tooth movement and protecting tooth root tissues. This article reviews the progress of research on LIPUS in cell regulation, in order to deepen the understanding of biological functions of LIPUS.
