Abstract: Periodontitis is a chronic inflammatory disease characterized by periodontal tissue inflammation and alveolar bone destruction. Researches have detected Th17 cells at different stages of periodontitis, suggesting that Th17 cells participate in the progress of periodontitis. This article reviews the role of Th17 cells in the development of periodontitis.
