Abstract: The autogenous bone grafts harvesting from mandibular chin or ramus are the most frequently used to reconstruct the anterior maxillary ridge. However, some complications are reported in the donor sites. Bone grafts harvesting from anterior maxillary edentulous sites or nearby can save time, reduce the donor morbidity and increase patients′ acceptance. This review focuses on the potential bone harvesting zone and collection techniques in anterior maxilla, and provides a reference for reconstructing bone defects of different sizes with insitu autogenous bone grafts.
