Abstract: Maxillary canine is the second most commonly impacted tooth after the third molar, which is important both esthetically and functionally. Most maxillary canines vertically or near vertically positioned are easy to be tracted into the dental arch, while horizontally positioned canines are more difficult and time-consuming to treat. We report a case of adult patient with palatally impacted maxillary canine, who was successfully treated by surgical exposure combined with orthodontic traction with self-designed elastic device.
