自噬在伴糖尿病牙周炎中的作用

The role of autophagy in periodontitis associated with diabetes mellitus

摘要: 糖尿病人群中牙周炎的发病率高,病变损害严重,且牙周炎被认为是糖尿病的重要并发症之一。糖尿病人体内持续高糖时,还原糖与蛋白质等可发生不可逆反应形成糖基化终产物,其在糖尿病慢性并发症中起重要作用。当机体处于代谢障碍时,自噬作为真核细胞的一种防御机制,主要通过对受损细胞器和大分子物质的降解和循环利用来维持细胞内环境稳定。近年来,对哺乳类动物细胞内自噬的研究发展迅速,并发现自噬与多种代谢性疾病及年龄相关性疾病有关。但自噬与糖尿病患者牙周破坏的作用机制尚不明确。本文就自噬在伴糖尿病牙周炎中的作用作一综述。

Abstract: Patients with diabetes have increased incidence, severity of periodontal disease ,which is regarded as a serious complication of diabetes mellitus. Advanced glycation end of products (AGEs) is formed by irreversible reaction of reductase with protein. It plays an important role in the pathogenesis of diabetic chronic complication. In autophagy, damaged organelles and proteins are transported to lysosomes for degradation and recycling, aiming to maintain a homeostatic environment. This process is a highly defensive mechanism among eukaryotic cells. The study of autophagy in mammalian systems is advancing rapidly and has revealed that it is involved in the pathogenesis of various metabolic and age-related diseases. However, the mechanism of autophagy and periodontal destruction in relation to diabetesis unclear. This review focuses on the potential relations between autophagy and periodontitis associated with diabetes mellitus.
