Abstract: Abstract: Objective To assess the effectiveness of a ACPCPP containing new product in reducing enamel demineralizationon post orthodontic patients. Methods The study design was doubleblind, randomized clinical trial .63 subjects with enamel decalcification(not cavitated)on their upper teeth(14~24,or 15~25)were selected and randomly divided into two groups:the experimental group (31 cases)and the control group (32 cases). The experimental group used GC Mousse while control group used placebo mousse (without CCPACP)once a day at night after brushing with fluoride dentifrice. The Enamel Decalcification Index(EDI)was used to determine the extent/severity of white enamel demineralizationat baseline,1 month and 3 months after treatment.A oneway analysis of variance (ANOVA)was done with STATA 12.0 software packagefor the average enamel decalcification index scores. Results 58 subjects completed the trial, with 28 in the experimental group and 30 in the control group.Baseline,1 month,3 months EDI of the experimental group were(0.5903±0.2585),(0.4514±0.2077),(0.2396±0.1499),respectively; and those for the control group were (0.5291±0.2494),(0.4397±0.2068),(0.3287±0.1757),respectively.The difference between the experimental group and control group was statistically significant 3 months after treatment.〖WTHZ〗Conclusions The application of CPPACP can help reducing the number/extent of white spot lesions already present after fixed orthodontic treatment.
