Abstract: Root canal perforation and instrument separation are common complications of root canal therapy. With the development of micro-endodontic treatment, the repairing of root canal perforation has been more effective, and the broken instrument can be effectively removed. However, it’s still difficult to treat some patients by routine root canal therapy, and thus measures such as apicectomy and root amputation are needed to promote the healing of the periapical disease. This paper reported a modified amputation case with an encouraging short term prognosis.
