New research progress on etiology of burning mouth syndrome

Abstract:  Burning mouth syndrome is characterized by pain, burning sensation or abnormal sensation of oral mucosa. There is no unified view on its various etiological factors. In recent years, there has been increasing research on the causes of BMS. Many scholars have put forward new points of view on its etiology. This article aims to make a summary of the latest research progress on the etiology and pathogenesis of BMS, thus providing some help for the development of its clinical diagnosis and therapies.
