Mechanism and risk assessment of bisphosphonaterelated osteonecrosis of the jaw

Abstract: Bisphosphonates, as strongly effective antitumor and antiosteoporosis drugs, are widely used in clinic, but the cases of bisphosphonaterelated osteonecrosis of the jaw (BRONJ) are increasing, seriously affecting the life quality of patients. It has become a difficult problem to overcome in the field of Oral Medicine all over the world since there has been no effective solution at home and abroad. This paper gives a review of the latest research progress and risk assessment of the BRONJ.
