Abstract: Objective To investigate the cognition and needs of oral health knowledge of different parents, whose children are aged between 3 and 6 years old, in order to provide basic information for treatment of children’s oral diseases. Methods 200 children’s parents were interviewed by questionnaire at Pediatric Dentistry Department of Jiangsu Provincial Oral Hospital. Results Participants of this investigation were scored totally 8.152±1.807. Ages, education degree and the relationships with children were connected with the scores of questionnaire. The most demanded information was about pit and fissure sealing and usage of fluoride. Besides, parents liked to absorb information via Wechat or brochures from hospitals. Conclusion The oral health knowledge of children’s parents should be improved, and the content and pattern of oral hygiene education should be broadened.
