Abstract: Oral cancer is a malignant tumor of the lips or mouth. It is one of the 10 most common cancers in the world. 90% of oral cancer cases are Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) . PI3K/AKT signal transduction pathway is one of the important signal transduction pathways in cells, and has close relationship with the occurrence and development of many malignant tumors (including OSCC) . This article mainly reviews the PI3K/AKT pathway mediating the occurrence, development and metastasis of oral squamous cell carcinoma.

Key words: oral squamous cell carcinoma, PI3K/AKT pathway, mTOR
