Abstract: Since the 1980s, minimally invasive therapy has been proposed and rapidly developed in periodontal non-surgical and surgical therapy with the continuous improvement of minimally invasive instruments and medical image techniques, which has greatly improved treatment effects and patients' experience. The purpose of this review was to clarify the application and development of minimally invasive therapy in periodontal treatment according to the published literature and the authors’ clinical experience.
