Abstract: Skeletal malocclusion is characterized by the dissonance between the maxillary and mandibular. According to its abnormal sagittal relationship, it can be divided into skeletal Class Ⅰ, skeletal Class Ⅱ and skeletal Class Ⅲ. The pathogenesis of skeletal malocclusion is complex, mainly composed of genetic factors and acquired environmental factors. This paper will review the progress of genetic research on these three kinds of skeletal malocclusion.
