Research of the cellular uptake mechanism of nanoparticles and its influencing factors

Abstract: Due to their special properties, nanoparticles have been widely used in clinical diagnosis, drug delievery, gene transfection, tissue engineering and cell tracking. A detailed understanding of the process and mechanisms underlying the uptake of nanoparticles is important for exploring the effects and action mechanisms of nanomaterials on the biological systems and evaluating their potential harm to organisms, which will provide insight about their biological safety. This article reviewed the most recent development in the celluar uptake of nanoparticles.
