Abstract: Objective To investigate the clinical significance of conebeam computed tomography (CBCT) in the diagnosis of maxillofacial cystic diseases. Methods CBCT images from 53 cases who suffered from jaw cystic disease were collected.CBCT threedimensional image reconstruction technique was used and the involvement of roots,information of impacted teeth and anatomic relationship between the lesions and mandibular canal,nasal floor,maxillary sinus were observed and analyzed preoperatively and verified during the operations. Results The involvement of roots,information of impacted teeth and anatomic relationship were clearly displayed in CBCT images. Conclusions CBCT can produce complete image information of jaw cystic diseases,thus its application might be a great support for clinical operation.
