Abstract: Coronectomy of the impacted high-risk mandibular third molar is a technique that could reduce the incidence of inferior alveolar nerve injury. Many studies have shown the practicability of coronectomy and its lower incidence of complications. In this paper, we discuss the technique as an overview and the management of common complications.

Key words: impacted mandibular third molars, inferior alveolar nerve injury.
