Schwannoma in sublingual gland: a case report and clinical analysis

Abstract: This paper reported and analyzed a case with schwannoma arising from lingual nerve in the sublingual gland.After complete resection along the envelope of the schwannoma(neurilemmoma)which is a benign,slowly growing,usually solitary and encapsulated tumor,good outcomes of wound healing were harvested in the follow-up 3 months later without obvious sensory and motor abnormalities of tongue,and no recurrence was detected.Therefore,as to clinical diagnosis and treatment of the tumor which locates in sublingual gland,the schwannoma should not be excluded from differential diagnosis.
