Abstract: Abstract:Chronic periodontitis(CP)is a kind of chronic infectious disease that occurs in the teeth-supporting tissues. Oral lichen planus(OLP)is one of the most common chronic inflammatory diseases in the oral mucosa. Erosive oral lichen planus is more often associated with chronic periodontitis, and periodontal local stimulation may also aggravate the symptoms of Erosive oral lichen planus. Epidemiologically, both of CP and OLP have a high incidence in the elderly population. They are also closely related to immune factors, genetic factors, microbial infection and other factors in the pathogenesis. This article will review the relationship between chronic periodontitis and oral lichen planus.
