Abstract: Bone defect caused by trauma, tumor or other causes needs suitable substitute bones to repair. With the development of bone tissue engineering, new ideas are brought to the repair of bone defect. Scientists have been making efforts in developing and optimizing all sorts of scaffold materials for bone tissue engineering to better help repair bone defects. Poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) has attracted much attention because of its good biodegradability, biocompatibility and other advantages. This paper focuses on reviewing recent studies on design and modification of poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)scaffold materials in bone tissue engineering.

Key words: poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid), bone tissue engineering, scaffold, bone regeneration
