Abstract: Plaque is a complex biofilm that participates in the development of caries. The accumulation of biofilm on dental tissues and materials is one of the most important factors in the development of secondary caries. The composite resin material with antibacterial effect mainly utilizes antibacterial monomer, antibacterial filler, antibacterial and remineralization combination, bioactive resin, surfactant, etc.. Reduce plaque accumulation on the surface of dental tissues and dental materials by bactericidal, bacteriostatic, inhibiting protein adsorption, and regulating biofilm to prevent secondary caries. This article describes the progress and limitations of the materials studied so far in terms of the composition of antibacterial and bioactive dental resins, and at the same time describes its antibacterial mechanism.

Key words: Antibacterial, resin-based dental material, mechanism, biological activity
