Abstract: Zirconia ceramics have excellent physical properties, aesthetic properties and good biocompatibility so they are increasingly used in stomatology clinically. However,due to the physical properties of zirconia ceramics and the limited surface treatment methods, the bonding quality of zirconia restorations to dental tissues is not ideal. In addition, in the clinical try in procedure，the surface of the restoration is inevitably contaminated by saliva, and saliva contamination has a negative effect to the bonding strength between zirconia restorations and dental tissues. This paper reviews the surface conditioning methods for cleaning saliva contamination of zirconia restorations.
