Abstract: Concave profile, a kind of lateral deformity of craniofacial soft tissue, generally manifestates skeletal Class Ⅲ malocclusion. According to the survey, the prevalence of concave profile in China is as high as 12% [1], and it has special craniofacial morphological characteristics, including abnormalities in soft tissue, bone tissue, tooth tissue and growth trend. Each anomaly has its own three-dimensional orientation. Moreover, for each individual, the degree of deformity is different in the growth and development period, which makes clinical analysis, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis more complicated. This article will review the development of craniofacial and its prediction in retrognathism malocclusion patients, in order to provide help for clinical treatment.
