Abstract: Dental implant has become the preferred treatment method for many patients due to its huge advantages in solving edentulou defects. How to promote the osseointegration of the implant-bone tissue interface is the key to the success of implant in clinic. Therefore, surface modification of implant has always been the hot topic of research. Bone tissue contains a large number of trace elements such as calcium, phosphorus, zinc, magnesium, and strontium, which are essential for the growth and development of bone tissue. Therefore, it is possible to promote implant osseointegration by incorporating trace elements into the implant surface. This article focuses on the related technology of implant surface modification and the specific mechanism of trace elements to promote osseointegration.
