Abstract:

Vitamin D(VD) is a key hormone regulating calcium-phosphorus metabolism and immune homeostasis, and plays an important role in implant osseointegration. This review summarizes the molecular mechanisms by which VD promotes bone formation, including maintenance of calcium-phosphorus homeostasis, regulation of the RANKL/OPG system, and modulation of immune-inflammatory responses. It further focuses on clinical intervention strategies such as systemic supplementation, implant surface modification, and intraoperative delivery, and analyzes their precise application in special pathological conditions such as diabetes mellitus. Finally, the review discusses the potential clinical value and existing controversies regarding VD in implant dentistry, aiming to provide a theoretical basis and clinical reference for rational evaluation and translational application of VD in oral implantology.

Key words: vitamin D, osseointegration, implant surface modification, immune regulation
