Abstract: Platelet-rich plasma(PRP), a platelet concentrate derived from autologous blood, is rich in cytokines and growth factors.Among these factors, platelet-derived growth factor(PDGF), transforming growth factor β(TGF-β)and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)mainly affect the activity of osteoblasts and osteoclasts, thus promoting the process of bone reconstruction. The efficiency of orthodontic teeth movement is influenced by bone reconstruction, so local injection of PRP will be a new direction to accelerate the efficiency of orthodontic teeth movement. This paper mainly reviews the application of PRP in orthodontic treatment to accelerate the efficiency of orthodontic teeth movement and relevant research, which will help further explore the feasibility of PRP in clinical treatment to accelerate the efficiency of orthodontic teeth movement.
